What is special education?

Known as SE for short, this is the practice of educating children with disabilities. These disabilities can range from physical, developmental, communication difficulties, or more. It differs from general education in that it is designed to provide an individualized approach to teaching all students who are assigned to this program.

Why the need for SE programs?

These programs are designed to meet the needs of children, youth, and adults with disabilities so that they can learn in a comfortable environment. They are also focused on developing skills to help them live as independently as possible.

Types of Special Education

Special education is the systematic way of providing assistance to someone with a disability. There are many types of services available to help people with disabilities, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and more.

Problems with SE

SE is a broad term used to refer to a wide range of services, including those related to physical and emotional disabilities, as well as learning disabilities. The goal of these programs is to educate students who need it in order to be able to continue with their education in public school. These services are from the K-12 level up through college. However, there are many problems with it. For one thing, many teachers don’t have the necessary training for teaching these students because they have not been given any instruction in how to do so.

Conclusion

Special education is a blanket term for any kind of instruction given to those with learning disabilities. Every year, around three million students in the United States receive special education services.
